Eleonora Zanotta for Zanotta
1) Why did you choose Cristalplant for your products?
The idea came from the design contest we sponsored in 2010 for the design of household products (tables, coffee tables etc.). On that occasion, we asked designers under the age of 40 to experiment with this material. The idea of a themed contest in which the limits are represented by a brand and a material is interesting because it allows you, while keeping in mind the brand and its history, to innovate from within the brand tradition itself. It is known that the introduction of new materials and technologies in certain areas is one of the few possibilities of expansion of markets. In the furnishing sector, in particular, where the aspects of the physical contact with the material are paramount, we gathered that Cristalplant could constitute a good basis for research in this direction.
2) Which do you think are the key features of this solid surface material?
The key features of this material are its formability in the mould with limited equipment costs, the restorability of its surface and, in some cases, its weight.
3) How long have you been working with the company that manufactures Cristalplant and holds its industrial patents?
Our partnership began in 2009. The group that manufactures Cristalplant and holds its industrial patents provides the technical support for product development and is known for the reliability and punctuality of their service, which is provided up to the delivery of the packaged product.
